Announcement of Dr. Karolina Nitsche as Core Director

How could investigators maintain valuable, often unique, lines of genetically engineered animals for future research with a pandemic threatening the health and safety of Emory researchers? The Mouse Transgenic and Gene Targeting Core (TMF) had a solution: cryopreservation. Animals’ sperm – and occasionally, embryos – can be carefully preserved in cold-resistant straws and stored in liquid nitrogen...

The Mouse Transgenic and Gene Targeting Core has been officially added to the University of Georgia approved vendor list. Mice generated by the Core may be received directly into UGA animal facility without mandatory quarantine.

We partner with Ingenious Targeting Laboratory and TIGM for full service (project design, targeting vector construction, ES cell targeting, and positive clone screening) project management. Blastocyst injections are performed on campus in the Core so that we deliver your mice as quickly as possible, with no import or time costs. Please contact us for details.

New service available – Rat Sperm and Embryo Cryopreservation. For more information please contact the Core Director, Dr. Nitsche.

We are now using CRISPR to generate mutant mice. Please contact us for details
