Services

The Emory HPLC bioanalytical core offers the ability to identify and quantify monoamines, amino acids, purine bases, and nucleotides from a variety of biological samples. We also provide expertise to develop and validate HPLC methods.

Monoamine analyses using HPLC coupled to electrochemical detector. Analytes include dopamine, dihydroxyindolphenylacetic acid (DOPAC), homovanillic acid (HVA), norepinephrine, 3-methoxytramine (3-MT), 5-hydroxyindole-3-acetic acid (5-HIAA), 4-hydroxy-3-methoxyphenyl glycol (MHPG), serotonin (5-HT).

Bioactive purine analyses using HPLC coupled to photodiode array detector. Analytes include ATP, ADP, AMP, adenosine, adenine, GTP, GDP, GMP, guanosine, hypoxanthine, inosine, xanthine and uric acid.

Amino acid analyses using pre-column OPA derivatization HPLC coupled to electrochemical detector. Analytes include glutamate, glutamine, alanine, glycine, arginine, taurine, GABA, and tyrosine. Other essential amino acids analysis is upon requested.

We also offer custom analyses to develop and validate HPLC methods. Some examples such as;small molecule drugs, purines, pyrimidines and related molecules, electrochemically active compounds, neuromodulators, their precursors and metabolites.
