Analysis

Use our powerful workstations to access proprietary and open-source image analysis/processing software.

Licensed Software

Imaris enables visualization of 3D, 4D and 5D data sets via multiple volume rendering algorithms and quantitative analysis.

Licensed packages include

  • Tracking (motion analysis, cell division and lineage)
  • FilamentTracer (Neuron tracing, spine detection, and measurements)
  • ImarisCell which allows for analysis of cells and their components
  • Colocalization (Pearson's correlation coefficient, Mander's coefficient)

FilamentTracer is available at workstation 4 in Whitehead and workstation 5 in HSRB II.

ImarisCell is available at workstation 0 in Winship and workstation 3 in HSRB.

Deconvolution software which is capable of processing images at orders of magnitudes faster than CPU-based software through the use of NVIDIA GPUs. Its "blind" deconvolution feature allows it to capture unmodeled aberrations such as coma without an experimentally measured PSF.

What does deconvolution do?

It increases your image's contrast / signal-to-noise ratio which will be helpful for quantification (segmentation, colocalization, intensity measurements, etc.). When widefield datasets are deconvolved, the blur from out-of-focus fluorescence can be suppressed.

Recommended video on deconvolution

Gen5 is available on select workstations and is intended to be used in conjunction with our BioTek Lionheart FX.

Its analysis options focus on 2D datasets, so z-stacks will need to be projected into one plane.
