📢Meet the Biacore 1K! (Coming soon)
We are excited to announce the arrival of an upgraded Biacore 1K System, funded by Georgia Research Alliance (GRA). The Biacore 1K is a next-generation Surface Plasmon Resonance (SPR) platform designed to deliver high-quality, label-free interaction data with minimal effort.
Primary Applications:
- Kinetics and Affinity Characterization: Measures the association rate , dissociation rate, and equilibrium dissociation constant to determine how fast molecules bind and how stable they are.
- Antibody-Antigen Profiling: Used for identifying specific antigen binding candidates during early-stage therapeutic antibody selection and screening.
- Active Concentration Measurement: Determines the concentration of functional, binding-competent molecules in unpurified samples without needing a standard standard curve.
- Small Molecule Fragment Analysis: Capable of detecting weak binders and small fragments interacting with immobilized target proteins, despite their low mass.
- Structure-Function Assessment: Probes how chemical or structural changes in receptor-ligand and enzyme-substrate pathways impact overall binding strength.
