Deqiang Qiu, PhD

MRI Program Director

Dr. Qiu received his undergraduate degree from Tsinghua University and he received his PhD from the University of Hong Kong. Following his postdoctoral work at Stanford University, he joined Emory University in 2013. He is the Program Director of MRI at the Center for Systems Imaging Core and leads a research team on computational neuroimaging and neuroscience. Currently, he is focused on the development and application of advanced Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) techniques, as well as image analysis tools to improve clinical diagnosis and management of neurological diseases such as cerebrovascular disease, epilepsy and Alzheimer’s disease. He has extensive experience in medical image acquisition methods, the application of machine learning algorithms for image analysis and software development for data analysis. In addition, he has a comprehensive background in quantitative and statistical analysis, signal and image processing and mathematical modeling.
