FAQ

The School of Medicine is using a billing system called PPMS for the Core labs and service centers.  The new billing system will allow SOM to directly submit charges into Compass and to provide you with an end of the month invoice summary by email on any service activity that you had performed on your studies at EGMIC.

  1. Contact us at egmic@emory.edu to set up a free initial consultation.
  2. Request a user account  creation in PPMS system with our core.
  3. Request a project creation in PPMS system with our core. Login to PPMS with your Emory University credentials or login as external user.

  1. Email us at egmic@emory.edu with your request and provide us some details about your experiment.  We will contact you to schedule an in-person training session.  Additional self-training materials will also be provided.
  2. On the day of training, meet EGMIC staff member at designated time and location for the training.  In this training session, we will go through the proper start up/shut down procedure, how to operate the instrument and use the software, and how to set up an assay.
  3. Use the instruments un-assisted (Independently). After you have demonstrated competence to use the instruments independently, you can book the system for unassisted use via PPMS and use the instruments following our Policies.
  4. Need technical help. If you encounter technical trouble during your session, we will make every effort to be available to help. Email us at egmic@emory.edu or call the lab (404)-727-6134.
