Recording Policy
Camera and Image-Recording Policy for DAR Employees
DAR employees may not use personal cameras, cell phones or other like devices to record any images, take any pictures or obtain any video in or around DAR-managed facilities or sites, indoors or out. Persons requiring pictures or to record images must do so with a DAR-owned camera. Cameras are available from the clinical veterinary staff or from the DAR Information Systems Manager. All images thus obtained are the property of the DAR and Emory University and may not be disseminated or leave the confines of the DAR without the specific permission and authorization of an administrative, operations, or veterinary unit head or a member of the DAR veterinary faculty.
Failure to adhere to this policy would represent a violation of Emory's Standards of Conduct and would be subject to progressive disciplinary action.
The manner of recording of images and the devices to be used by research personnel remains at the discretion of the IACUC-approved, responsible faculty member and is not presently subject to this policy.
This policy was prepared by Michael J. Huerkamp, DVM, DACLAM (Director, Division of Animal Resources) on June 9, 2011.
