Clinical Diagnostic Laboratory
The DAR Diagnostic Laboratory provides a range of clinical diagnostic tests for specimens obtained from research. The most popular options include hematology, clinical chemistries and parasitology.The diagnostic and pathology laboratory is equipped with in-house chemistry and complete blood count analyzers. In-house analysis is available for competitive pricing, faster reporting and smaller sample size.
DAR Diagnostics is located in the Whitehead Biomedical Research Building, Room G32. For more information or to schedule sample submission please contact: SOMDAR-VetDx@emory.edu. Submissions may also be handled online.
Histopathology
Histopathology services for SOM Investigators are referred to the Emory National Primate Research Center. If investigators would like to pursue histopathology services outside Emory University, the vendors shown below are also available:

Biological Material Certification
A Biological Material Certification letter outlining the conditions for administration of biological materials to Emory University animals must be obtained from the DAR Quality Assurance team prior to their use. Upon receipt of the satisfactory screening results, the QA Lab will issue the letter to both the investigator and the IACUC office. The investigator is responsible for attaching the letter to the applicable IACUC protocol to gain protocol approval. The letter will remain valid for 3 years.
