Safety Data Sheets (SDS)
The Safety Data Sheet (SDS) includes information such as the properties of each chemical; the physical, health, and environmental health hazards; protective measures; and safety precautions for handling, storing, and transporting the chemical. (OSHA)
Chemicals in the Animal Research Facilities
Many chemicals are regularly in use in the animal facilities. Various uses include cleaning, facility upkeep, and pest control.
Any chemicals used for experimental purposes that pose a hazard to human health or safety are approved for use by the Chemical Safety Committee of EHSO and signage must be posted when they are in use. Details on hazardous chemicals and animals can be found at Animal Chemical Safety Training.
Please search Emory's EHSO SDS Online Database for complete and up to date SDS listings of any chemical in use in the animal facilities.
