MRI Resources for Human Research

CSIC operates three Siemens 3T MRI scanners and one Siemens 7T MRI scanner for human subject research studies.

CSIC's human MRI scanners are located in EUH, HSRB-II, and BHC at Executive Park.
  • The Siemens 3T PrismaFIT-EUH at CSIC's research imaging facility at Emory University Hospital (EUH) provides convenient access for MRI protocols involving in-patient subjects and MRI protocols that involve participants that require clinical care oversight. The EUH facility is CSIC's only facility that supports MRI with contrast base scans for human subject research. The scanner also supports the capability of multi-nuclei studies, and advanced shimming for high quality MR spectroscopy research, and simultaneous EEG. This site supports investigator use of third-party devices and set-up as applicable.
  • The Siemens 3T PrismaFIT-HSRB-II MRI and Siemens 7T MRI-HSRB-II at CSIC's Health Sciences Research Building II (HSRB-II) facility provides (6) reserved parking spaces for research participants, and a separate waiting area for pediatric study participants. A simulator (mock) scanner is also available at HSRB-II to allow pediatric study participants to become familiar with MR environment before actual MRI study scans are completed. This site supports investigator use of third-party devices and set-up as applicable.
  • The Siemens 3T Prisma MRI-BHC at the CSIC's Brain Health Center (BHC) facility at Emory's Executive Park Building 12 features a dedicated room for pre-test medical treatment, MRI compatible LED BOLDScreen for high quality visual presentation, convenient free parking, and permanent installation for research that need special air administration.
