Purchasing Drugs

The Division of Animal Resources (DAR) is not permitted to sell prescription drugs. All Principal Investigators (PIs) using Controlled Substances and/or Dangerous Drugs in research must obtain the appropriate licenses from federal and/or state authorities. The Research Controlled Drug Compliance (RCDC) Program (rcdc@emory.edu) is available to assist investigators with securing the necessary license(s) required to purchase drugs. Once licensed, investigators may obtain drugs by issuing a purchase request via Emory Express. Ordering support is available by contacting sourcingandprocurement@emory.edu. For investigators who have applied for the required license(s) but have not yet been licensed, DAR can provide anesthesia and euthanasia services on a fee-for-service basis. Technical assistance requests may be submitted through a DAR Veterinary Technician Assistance Request (Veterinary Technician Assistance Request Form). Isoflurane is available for a fee in DAR-managed rodent surgery rooms (contact dartrn@emory.edu).
